Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
As you are certainly aware through the media, the most important gas pipeline "Nord Stream 1" will undergo scheduled maintenance from 11 July 2022 until 21 July 2022. lt is currently uncertain whether Russian gas will be supplied again after that and in what quantities. Experts fear that the pipeline will deliver later and less gas than it does today.
In the event that Germany is supplied with less gas, a "gas alert level two" has already been declared.
Andernach & Bleck also uses natural gas as a process gas for heat treatment and power generation. For this reason, we would like to point out already today that in the event of a gas shortage, we will be forced to reduce or even completely interrupt our natural gas-dependent processes. Reliable production will then only be possible in sub-segments and we will not be able to meet promised deadlines for an indefinite period of time.
Within alert level 2, which has already been declared, natural gas prices will no langer be determined exclusively by the market, but can be set politically (cf. §24 and §26 EnSiG}.The resulting additional costs are not yet known. In this case, too, we would like to point out today that we will have to pass on the additional costs to you.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to make concrete statements about how gas deliveries to Germany will take place in the future. However, we are in close contact with our energy supplier in order to draw conclusions for our processes as early as possible and to be able to inform you as soon as possible.
As soon as we have reliable information about the gas supply, possible disconnections or price increases, we will contact you immediately.
